The FORO ITALICO, a sports stadium in Rome built by Mussolini, is home to blatantly erotic giant male nude sculptures. One can wander among them and see their muscled bodies from below.  Leni Riefenstahl, for her famous film on the 1934 Berlin Olympics, dug trenches from which to shoot the athletes from below – conferring upon them monumental form. In an exercise intended to echo the scale of those nudes and Riefenstahl’s athletes, I shot from a reflected angle to achieve a similar result. <br />
